Hint: It is possible to add conferences a group at a time
if you prefer. Then, if want to change out of it, you click on
the downward pointing arrow just under the word, Help.
We are now ready to download the QWK packet. As with many
things on Wildcat, there are several ways to do this.
Previously, you had to go into the terminal client and do
everything in text mode, but thanks to a lot of work by the
members of the
Wildcat team, it is now possible to do it all in graphical mode.
You click on the browser client and it will start up either
Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
From the main web page, there is a link for QWKMail in the
frame on the left. Clicking on it gives you a chance to download
a QWK packet or upload your reply packet. Note: if you aren't
sure what this off-line mail stuff really means there is a link
that will help explain it.
When you click on the link to download your QWK packet, the
terminal clent will start up, you will have to answer a couple of
questions, and then the QWK packet will be transferred to your
machine. On my system, the transfer
client minimizes itself to the task bar, so if I want to
monitor the transfer I have to click it to make it visible. You
will in fact need to make it visible to get to tools-options to
set the download directory where you want the QWK packet to go.
When you select the option to upload a reply packet, a typical
Windows box pops up and you can navigate
to the directory holding your REP packet.
